Heineken

A little secret about the Heineken “All About the Beer” campaign:

The line began life as a tagline I wrote for a Long John Silver’s pitch –” It’s all about the fish.” That campaign featured people doing whatever they could to get their hands on Long John Silver’s fish. The ECD liked the line so much, he asked to use it for the Heineken pitch. So while the Heineken campaign took the idea into new areas, the core idea remained the same. We did not win L.J.S., but we did win Heineken.

Writing for Red is learning how to write a particular style of “Conservative Sass” which becomes a whole lot more fun after getting to know Red. How many commercial characters do you know who have x-rated blogs and post devoted to them?

Comcast Spotlight

“We need 3 commercials that will stand out from the clutter and talk about what OnDemand advertising can do for your business.”

“Sure, we can do that.”

“Great, and we’re going to need it in three weeks.”

“Done.”

Century 21

A new 21-point pledge designed to ensure that Century 21 agents aren’t like every other agent. It was also the first campaign I ever worked on as CD. –Thanks for all the help and guidance Mike.

Fram Oil Filters

This was part of a new business pitch. In the end we didn’t get the business, but I always thought it was pretty cool idea and was made for next to nothing. Well, almost nothing, it did require the transfer of capital in the form of beer.

Not TV, but as part of the pitch, we included a unique point-of-sale piece that visually emphasized the benefits of a high-quality oil filter.

Besides being a great piece, I really wanted to have a Fram Snow Globe for myself.
